Rebecca Rome's Bio

Ms. Rebecca Rome is a dynamic educator with over 17 years of classroom, ensemble, and private instruction experience. Educated at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, Ms. Rome graduated with honors achieving her degree in Music Education. Upon graduation, she moved to California to teach beginning and Jr. High band successfully for over eight years. Her students performed in small and large ensembles, chamber groups, and as soloists in various competitions, with a reputation for demonstrating exemplary tone and technique in adjudication.
Ms. Rome is also a versatile trumpet player with over 25 years of performing experience within ensembles and as a solo performer. While at Augustana, Rebecca sat as principal trumpet in every performing ensemble on campus for two years.¬

During her career in California, she performed regularly with the California Lutheran University Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, and also sat as the principal trumpet in both groups. There she soloed with various student artists, and performed many pieces from standard solo repertoire. Her last appointment was with the Victor Valley Symphonic Band, where she was co-principal of the trumpet section. Most recently, Ms. Rome spent one year teaching in Central Europe and playing with classically trained organist Ivana SabonoŇ°ova, expanding her classical and sacred music repertoire.

Ms. Rome has returned to the Midwest to be near family and reestablish her roots as a band instructor. As a licensed music educator, she currently teaches with Music Education Services, and as a private instructor in Northern Illinois. She is also a performing musician with the Union League Club Brass Ensemble in Chicago. Rebecca thoroughly enjoys and is dedicated to teaching students of all ages and abilities, sharing with them her knowledge and passion for music.
